About the Srisailam trip
Srisailam is one of the very few places in India where a Jyotirlinga and an Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha stand within the same temple complex. Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi are worshipped together here, and pilgrims are permitted to touch the Shivalinga during sparsha darshan slots — something almost unheard of at other Jyotirlingas.
The drive itself is part of the trip. The road cuts through the Nallamala forest with viewpoints over the Krishna gorge, and the Srisailam dam, Patala Ganga ropeway and Akkamahadevi caves fill the second half comfortably.
Accommodation is arranged at the Devasthanam guest houses or a comfortable nearby stay, and Sparsha darshan or Ati Sheeghra tickets are registered wherever the temple permits advance booking.
