About the Edupayala Vana Durga Bhavani trip
Edupayala takes its name from the seven streams — edu payalu — of the Manjeera that converge here in Medak district. Vana Durga Bhavani Devi is worshipped on the bank, and the setting of water, rock and open sky is what people remember as much as the darshan.
The Shivaratri jatara turns the place into a three-day fair that draws lakhs of villagers from across Telangana. Outside the jatara it is peaceful, and families come for a morning darshan and a picnic by the water.
This is our shortest trip, planned as an easy, comfortable day out with transport, darshan and timing all taken care of.
