About the Alampur Jogulamba trip
Alampur is called Dakshina Kashi, and it holds two things at once: Jogulamba Devi, the fifth of the eighteen Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas, and the Nava Brahma temples built by the Badami Chalukyas in the seventh century — some of the oldest standing stone temples in Telangana.
The Shakti Peetha marks where the upper teeth of Sati are said to have fallen. Jogulamba is worshipped in a fierce form, and the temple was rebuilt after the original was destroyed, with the idol having been hidden for centuries at Bala Brahmeswara.
It works beautifully as a one-day trip from Hyderabad, or as a stop on the way to Srisailam or Mantralayam, planned so the driving and the darshan both stay comfortable.

Day 1
Hyderabad to Alampur
