For a road trip, it is useful to check the route from your exact starting point rather than relying on one fixed distance, as the distance can change depending on where you begin in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad to Yadagirigutta Route

I personally prefer going through Keesara. The route is beautiful, with plenty of greenery and a vibrant village atmosphere along the way. I especially enjoy taking this route on a bike with a few friends, riding slowly and enjoying the journey. It has a very peaceful vibe and makes the trip itself just as enjoyable as the destination.

If you are travelling by your own vehicle, save the route before starting and allow additional time for traffic, temple crowds and stops along the way.

How to Reach Yadagirigutta from Hyderabad

Yadagirigutta can be reached from Hyderabad by bus, train, car or cab. Buses run from JBS (Jubilee Bus Stand), trains are available from Secunderabad Junction towards the Yadadri area, and travelling by your own car or a cab gives you the flexibility to add the nearby temples to the same trip.

Devotees can perform Giripradakshina on any day, but it is considered especially significant on Swathi Nakshatram, the birth star associated with Lord Narasimha. On this day every month, devotees take part in the special Giripradakshina and seek the blessings of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.

Giripradakshina means walking around a sacred hill as an act of devotion and reverence. At Yadagirigutta, devotees walk around the sacred hill associated with Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, seeking the blessings of the deity and considering the walk itself a form of worship. For many devotees, it is also a peaceful spiritual practice that allows them to spend time in prayer and devotion while completing the sacred circuit.

How Long Does Yadagirigutta Giripradakshina Take?

Yadagirigutta Giripradakshina can be completed in around 40 minutes, depending on your walking pace and stops along the route. The designated route is around 4 km.

Don't Miss the Old Yadagirigutta Temple

If you are visiting Yadagirigutta, don't limit your trip to the new temple complex. I also recommend visiting the old Yadagirigutta temple.

The old temple has a very different atmosphere from the newer temple complex. It is a place where you can slow down, spend some quiet time and experience the older side of Yadagirigutta.

The old Sri Patha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is open for devotees from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It is around 2 km from the new Yadagirigutta Temple and takes approximately 5–7 minutes to reach by road.

Lotus Temple Near Yadagirigutta

Another place you can include in your Yadagirigutta pilgrimage is the Lotus Temple, associated with Hanuman worship and a distinctive devotional setting.

If you are interested in visiting, check the current opening information and local instructions before planning it as part of your itinerary.

The Lotus Temple is located around 2.9 km from Yadagirigutta Bus Stand, and you can easily reach it by taking a local auto or taxi. The temple is open from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The 90-Day Hanuman Mantra Practice

One devotional practice you may hear about at the Lotus Temple is a 90-day mantra recitation followed by some devotees who come with a korika, or a heartfelt wish or intention.

The mantra is:

If you are interested in following this practice, the best approach is to visit the temple first and ask for the current instructions and procedure directly from the temple rather than relying on a version copied from the internet.

Many devotees believe that sincere devotional practices such as this have helped them fulfil their wishes. I have also personally heard such an experience from one of my MBA friends, who followed the practice and felt that his wish was fulfilled.

Swarnagiri Temple Near Yadagirigutta

Swarnagiri Sree Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam is another temple you can consider adding to your Yadagirigutta trip. It is located in the Bhuvanagiri area and can be combined with a visit to Yadagirigutta depending on your schedule.

Swarnagiri is around 20 km from Yadagirigutta.

If you are already travelling in the area, Swarnagiri can be a worthwhile additional spiritual stop.

Other Places to Visit Around Yadagirigutta

Surendrapuri

Surendrapuri is a popular attraction near Yadagirigutta known for its mythological and devotional displays. It can be considered if you have additional time after visiting the main temple.

Surendrapuri is located around 3 km from Yadagirigutta and is home to the Kunda Satyanarayana Kaladhamam, a unique mythological museum featuring more than 3,000 sculptures, replicas of famous temples and scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavatam. The Kaladhamam is open for entry from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with visiting hours until 7:00 PM. The entry fee is ₹350 for adults, ₹300 for children between 120 cm and 140 cm, and free for children below 120 cm.

Bhuvanagiri Fort

Bhuvanagiri Fort is another attraction in the wider Yadadri Bhuvanagiri region and can be considered by travellers interested in history, views and exploring beyond the temple.

Kolanupaka Jain Temple

Kolanupaka Jain Temple is another significant religious destination in the wider region. It may be better suited to a longer itinerary rather than a rushed one-day temple visit.

Hyderabad to Yadagirigutta One-Day Trip
